I observed firsthand how therapists help patients regain independence through personalized treatment plans and adaptive techniques. I gained valuable insight into how OT professionals assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs while fostering motivation and confidence throughout the rehabilitation process. My responsibilities included assisting with therapy setup, observing patient sessions, and maintaining a clean, organized environment. This experience strengthened my understanding of patient-centered care and deepened my passion for helping others improve their quality of life through meaningful therapeutic interventions.
Shadowed healthcare professionals in providing rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, illness, or surgery. Gained exposure to occupational and physical therapy interventions, patient mobility assistance, and daily care routines while developing communication, empathy, and teamwork skills in a clinical setting for CNA license.
Provided daily care and emotional support for rescued animals, including cleaning enclosures, walking dogs, and assisting with feeding and socialization. Developed patience, empathy, and communication skills while helping rehabilitate fearful or neglected animals and preparing them for adoption.
Assisted in preparing and serving meals to individuals experiencing homelessness while offering conversation and support. Developed strong communication and interpersonal skills by engaging with diverse populations and promoting dignity, compassion, and community connection.
