Angela Ramlakhan's Story
Hi there! My name is Aarti Angela Ramlakhan. I'm a determined and compassionate individual who has learned to turn challenges into stepping stones. My dad was born in Paramaribo, Suriname and my mom was born in Georgetown, Guyana. My mom and her family later moved to Suriname where she met my dad while she was working in the hospital as a registered nurse and they moved to America in 1992. My sister and I were born and raised in Queens, New York. My family and I moved to Clermont, Florida in 2011 where I started my journey towards becoming an Occupational Therapist. I'm currently a student at the University of Central Florida majoring in Health Sciences. My journey has shaped me into someone resilient, grounded, and always willing to learn and grow. Whether I’m working toward my goals in healthcare or enjoying time away from the books, I love finding joy in the little things, like playing basketball, spending time with my dog or friends and family, or checking out car shows. Each experience, whether personal or professional, reminds me to stay driven yet lighthearted, and to approach every day with purpose, curiosity, and a smile.
